Dr. Nate Zinsser

Sport and Performance Psychology Expert; Author, Speaker, Consultant

Dr. Nate Zinsser is an expert in the psychology of human performance who consults to individuals and organizations seeking a competitive edge.

Dr Zinsser has been at the forefront of applied sport psychology for over thirty years. He has published scholarly research in The Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, The Canadian Journal of Psychology and in five editions of the widely used textbook, Applied Sport Psychology: Personal Growth to Peak Performance. He helped launch the highly successful magazine Sports Illustrated for Kids by contributing a monthly advice column for five years, and was presented with an American Library Association award for his 1991 children’s book Dear Dr. Psych: A Kid’s Guide to Handling Sports Problems. Dr Zinsser’s latest book, The Confident Mind: A Battle-Tested Guide for Unshakable Performance, will be released in January 2022.

Dr Zinsser has been a regular consultant to the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Giants for twelve seasons and a keynote speaker for General Electric, Facebook, McDonald’s, Staples, UBS, Salomon Smith Barney, Reader’s Digest, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, and the Federal Executive Institute, as well as a consultant for the FBI Academy, the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program, (mentoring four Olympic medalists), the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, and the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. He has been invited to present to student and faculty groups at Renssalear Polytechnic Institute, University of Southern Maine, Princeton University, University of Delaware, Seton Hall University, University of Texas at El Paso, Pace University, Montclair State University, United States Merchant Marine Academy, Marist College, Vassar College, and Bard College.
