Here’s something worth celebrating: BJ Fogg, one of the world’s leading experts on behavior change, says this: “If I could teach you one thing, it would be this: Celebrate immediately. Intensely.”

Why? Because celebration rewires your brain. When you celebrate—even the tiniest success—you flood your brain with dopamine, creating a positive emotional connection to the habit or action you just completed.

And here’s the kicker: The more intensely and immediately you celebrate, the more effective it is.

Why Celebration Works

1. It Reinforces Success: Every time you celebrate, you signal to your brain: “This is good. Let’s do more of it.”

2. It Builds Momentum: Success begets success. A small win today can lead to bigger wins tomorrow when it’s celebrated.

3. It Activates Joy: Dopamine isn’t just a reward—it’s fuel. When you feel good about progress, you’re more motivated to keep going.

The Heroic Elite Mindset

Elite performers don’t wait for the big wins to celebrate—they find joy in every step of the process. Did you follow your nutrition protocol today? Did you take one small step toward your Heroically SMART Goal? Celebrate it.

Even a fist pump, a smile, or a simple “Yes!” can turn a small win into fuel for transformation.

I personally say “That’s like me!” basically every time I do a set of burpees or whatever else it is I say I would do.

Today’s Action Step

Right now, think about one thing you’ve done today that you’re proud of—no matter how small.

  • Did you meditate for one minute?
  • Did you avoid a distraction?
  • Did you send a message of gratitude to a loved one?

Pause. Smile. And say “I did it!”

Celebrate immediately. Intensely. When you do what you say you would do.

Remember, life isn’t just about achieving the big milestones. It’s about celebrating every step along the way.

Day 1. All in. Let’s go!
