“Live life as if everything is rigged in your favor.” — Rumi

I have a little ornament with this quote hanging on my wall. It reminds me that everything in life—every challenge, every inconvenience, every tiny frustration—can be used for my personal transformation.

So, here are a few everyday moments I’ve applied this quote to recently:

A child loudly complaining about dinner, kids bickering and leaving messes in their wake, trying to write while being interrupted, a shattered plate on the ground, up at night with a sick child, a burnt pan, and chicken poop… generously decorating the porch.

Yep, life is happening. Deep breath. And yep—everything is rigged in my favor.

So, how will I respond?

What if we approached all the less-than-ideal moments in our day with this mindset?

“Yes, of course, everything is rigged in my favor. This is for me. Life is always supporting my evolution. Let me look for the lesson. How can I see this as an opportunity to grow?”

Mundane challenges are different from deep losses, but even in the hardest times, if we can hold space for transformation—for the entire spectrum of life—we can grow.

Sometimes, we wouldn’t choose certain lessons, but they choose us. And we get to decide how we navigate them.

There’s always a choice in how we respond.

And here’s the magic: when we embrace this perspective, life starts to feel lighter. The good moments feel even sweeter, joy expands, and we begin to notice the tiny miracles woven into every day.

Someone says something kind to you? Yay—life is rigged in your favor.

You land a new client.

Your child tells you she loves you.

You run into a dear friend you haven’t seen in a while.

You pause to take in the beauty of the sky through the trees.

You complete a big project.

You feel totally on your game all day long.

Who doesn’t love that?

Everything is rigged in your favor.

So, test it out as you move through your day. Silently say to yourself: “Everything is rigged in my favor.”

See if it shifts your perspective, softens your responses—and maybe even makes you laugh a little more too.

Wishing you a life-is-rigged-in-your-favor kind of day!
