You already know what a better day looks like. This builds it.
Twenty minutes a day. A morning that starts on purpose, one idea worth trying before dinner, and a three-minute close at night. Thirty days in a row is enough to measure the difference.
The gap was never knowledge.
You can name the habit you should build. You could probably teach it. You have the shelf of half-read books to prove it. But starting a practice and keeping one are two different problems.
It measured opens, not actions
A streak for opening an app only proves you opened the app. It says nothing about whether your morning changed.
It handed you a library
Hundreds of hours of good material and no order to it. So the real work became choosing, and choosing is exhausting, so you stopped.
It was built to keep you scrolling
The business model needed your attention. You needed your attention back. Those two things cannot both win.
It never took a baseline
With no measurement on day one there is no way to tell a good month from a month you felt good about. So progress stayed a feeling, and feelings fade.
None of that is a knowledge problem. The world is not short of good ideas about how to live. It is short of something that installs them into an ordinary Tuesday.
The sentence you say about yourself changes.
Members rarely describe the result as a feature. They describe it as a different sentence about their own life, and the sentence changes in the same order for almost everyone.
- 01 Where most people start
“I'm not good at most of this, and there is a lot to fix.”
Everything looks like a weakness because nothing has been measured. This is the least fun month and the one that matters most.
- 02 Somewhere in month two
“I'm learning most of this, and I'm fixing the big things.”
The practice is running. You have evidence. The wins are small enough to repeat and the lessons stop feeling like failure.
- 03 The part nobody expects
“I'm doing well at most of this, and I need new things to work on.”
The old problems are boring now. Three months from now you will be annoyed by different things, and the people around you will notice before you do.
Three things, built to hold each other up.
A practice with nothing to read is a chore. A library with no practice is a bookshelf. That is why the practice, the library and the people come together.
The daily practice
A quick morning start, today's three commitments, and an evening close. It asks what you did rather than whether you showed up. Twenty minutes, measured from day one.
The wisdom library
750+ Philosopher's Notes, each one six pages or a fifteen-minute listen, hand-distilled from the best books ever written on living well. One a day, chosen for you.
A small group of people
A handful of people running the same practice. No feed, no follower count. That is the difference between a habit and a habit that survives a bad week.
What twenty minutes looks like.
The simple morning start
Open the app. Take in today's +1: watch it, read it, or listen. Then set your commitments for the day, the moves that make today a win before it starts.
The work break
One Philosopher's Note: six pages or a fifteen-minute listen, one idea worth trying before dinner. 750+ in the library, new ones weekly.
The support
Stuck at 11pm? Bri.ai is trained on every Note, class, program and book Heroic has made. It answers like a mentor who has read everything, then points you at a human when that is what you need.
The reflection
Win or learn. The lessons get celebrated harder than the wins, because the lessons are where the change happens.
Bri.ai and Basic Training are part of Heroic OS+. Everything else is in both memberships.
Twenty years of reading, compressed.
Brian has spent two decades reading the best books ever written on living well, then distilling each one into six pages you can finish in a sitting. Not AI summaries. Hand-crafted, one at a time, with a name attached.
You don't need to read 750 books. You need the one idea from the right book, today, chosen by someone who read all of them.
The practice, then the proof.
Three moves on a loop. It is the mechanism, and the reason the habit survives past the week you fall off.
Practice
Twenty minutes, most days. Small enough that a bad week only costs you a bad week.
Measure
An assessment sets your baseline. Daily actions, guided quests and streaks move it, and you score again at key moments to see the difference you made.
Adjust
You can see which parts of your life are moving and which are not, so the next month has a direction.
“Larger than I had ever witnessed in my own 35 years of research.”
From our members.
“That's what Heroic can do, if you do the work. And you don't have to believe. I didn't. Nothing else worked for me.”
“This is the only app that is positive.”
“I set my 12-month goals in October, a very ambitious and extensive list at that, and by January 1st, I had already blown through 90% of those goals.”
“I have turned from a skeptic to a practitioner on my way to a true believer… this program is pretty darn great and has made me rethink my future as well as overcome tons of road blocks.”
“Every day I get a short infusion of wisdom and inspiration and learning that energizes and motivates me… It's a daily compass. In this distracted and chaotic world it is a touchstone.”
“I am in this life for the long haul and Heroic has helped me set up and keep disciplined so that I can celebrate a 100th birthday with a marathon run.”
“Creating a protocol has established consistency and accountability… Identifying virtues specific to me has provided confidence in who I am. The target swipes have held me accountable to take action!”
“‘Hey Matt.' ‘Hey Dad.' ‘Hey Honey.' have become cues to actions in a way I cannot explain… What's even better is how it is expanding into my work letting me lead by example.”

People who could read anything.
Three people with no reason to say it, on whether the distillation is any good.
“If you're looking to supercharge your quest to cultivate a deep life, Philosopher's Notes is where I'd start.”
“Heroic is the best self-development platform in the world.”
“I've been following Brian's work for years. His Philosopher's Notes and practical wisdom have helped me grow as a leader, and helped our team build the clarity, discipline, and antifragility to perform at our best, on and off the field.”
What this is, and what it isn't.
You have paid for something like this before and stopped using it. So here is what Heroic will do for you, and what it intentionally won't.
- Give you a daily practice, a baseline, and a score that only moves on real actions
- Hand you 750+ Notes, 2,000+ daily +1s and 50+ master classes, all human-written
- Put you in a small group of people running the same practice
- End the session on purpose, and wait for you after a week off
- Replace a therapist, a doctor, or a coach who knows your situation
- Give you a public feed, a follower count, or anything to perform on
- Sync progress from courses you took on the old heroic.us. That history stays there
- Work if you don't open it. Twenty minutes is small, but it isn't zero

Want the evidence rather than the pitch?
Read the science01 What if I miss days?
Then you miss days. The score only moves on real actions, so it stalls rather than punishing you, and nothing resets to zero. The people who last are not the ones who never miss, they are the ones who come back on the eighth day.
02 Is there a free trial?
Yes. Seven days, free, on both Heroic OS and OS+. You enter a card when you start it, nothing is charged until day eight, and you can cancel from your account settings any time before then. Cancel inside the seven days and you pay nothing.
03 Is the content AI-generated?
No. Every Philosopher's Note is read and written by a person, and Brian has been doing it for twenty years. There is AI coaching inside Heroic OS+ for the 11pm moments, and it is clearly labelled as that, but none of the library is machine-written.
04 Do I have to read 750 books?
No. That's the point. You get one Note a day, six pages, chosen for what you're working on. The 750 exist so the right one is there when you need it, not so you can work through them.
05 Twenty minutes is the real number?
Yes. About four minutes to open the morning, fifteen for the day's Philosopher's Note, three to close the night. Call it twenty. The trial that produced the +23% was run on a daily practice of about that size.
06 What's the difference between the two memberships?
Heroic OS is the full practice and library: everything on this page except the coaching. Heroic OS+ adds the coaching: Bri.ai (AI, trained on everything Heroic has made), Heroic Basic Training, and live open floor coaching and community mastermind sessions with the faculty.
07 Can I cancel?
Yes, from your account settings. The first seven days are free, so cancelling inside that window costs you nothing, and the annual plans are the cheaper way in rather than a lock-in. If you only want the writing, Wisdom Daily is free for as long as you want it.
08 Is there a community, and is it another feed?
Small groups, not a feed. There is no follower count and nothing to perform on. Research on our own members was clear that people wanted a handful of committed people and a journal, not an audience.
09 Who is behind this?
Heroic is a Public Benefit Corporation founded in January 2020 by Brian Johnson, with Michael Balchan as CEO. 100,000+ members in 100+ countries, and a stated mission to help 51% of humanity flourish by 2051.
Tomorrow morning, or someday.
Twenty minutes a day, a number on day one, and thirty days to see it move. The first seven days are free, so you'll know by Friday whether it's for you.
Or start with Wisdom Daily, free, and read Brian for a month before you decide.
